Roy took 3rd in the Nursery Finals and 12th in the Open Finals at the 2014 USBCHA National Cattle Dog Finals! Roy is a steady and calm worker on all types of stock. He doesn’t bite unless he has to, but has plenty of power to grip when needed. At the age of three, Roy has proven himself as a great trial dog as well as sire!

 

Roy is such a good listener and has great ability to shift gears from one type of stock to the other! Roy is a steady and calm worker on all types of stock. He doesn’t bite unless he has to, but will head and heel when needed. He consistently places in the money at USBCHA trials and has High in Trials on sheep, cattle and ducks.

  • 2016 San Antonio Stock Show 1st Place Open Sheep

  • 2016 National Western Stock Show Open Sheep Grand Champion

  • 2015 Accumulated 6 first placements, 2 High In Trials and 2 Reserve High In Trials in three days of competition
    on sheep, cattle, and ducks!  Such a versatile worker!

  • 2015 7th in National Western Stock Show Cattle Finals

  • 2014 9th in National Western Stock Show Cattle Finals

  • 2014 4th in National Western Stock Show Open Sheep

  • 2014 John, Lee and Roy win the brace cattle competition at the Mississippi State Fair!! (This is their first brace competition.)

  • 2014 Reserve Open Sheep Champion at Oklahoma State Fair

  • 2013 NWSS Intermediate Sheep Grand Champion (at 24 months old)

  • 2013 4th in USBCHA National Cattle Dog Nursery Finals

  • 2013 Won SE Iowa Nursery Futurity Challenge

  • 2013 Won Nursery Cattle at Shepherd's Crook Trial in St. Louis, MO.

  • 2012 Open Ranch Sheep Champion at Oklahoma State Fair

  • 2012 AKC Advanced title at age of 15 months old

 

2013 was a busy year for Roy! In January, just a few days after his second birthday, Roy took GRAND CHAMPION in Intermediate Sheep at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO!!! Roy worked fast and close on the tough range sheep used for this difficult arena trial. He kept them moving without gripping and didn’t give them a chance to turn around for a fight. (Roy took 4th in the first go around and 1st in the second go around to capture the buckle.) In March 2013, Roy won the Nursery Cattle at the Shepherd’s Crook Trial in St. Louis MO. In April 2012 Roy finished his Advanced AKC title at the age of 15 months!  Roy took 4th in the 2013 USBCHA National Cattle Dog Nursery Finals on May 5th 2013! In October of 2013 Roy won the SE Iowa Nursery Futurity Challenge! (check out his video below) In January 2014 Roy celebrated his 3rd birthday by taking 9th in the Open Cattle competition at the National Western Stock Show Saturday morning (out of 36 dogs) and 4th in the Open Sheep competition Saturday evening (out of 38 dogs).
